OUR MISSION
Langston Golf Course Conservancy was founded to champion Langston Golf Course's remarkable cultural and historic past, present, and future. We are committed to identifying funding in support of historic preservation efforts, youth golf literacy, and environmental sustainability in and around the Langston Golf Course community.
WHO WE ARE
We are a group of area citizens and business owners colloquially referring to ourselves as “Friends of Langston,” and we are working with other stakeholders to keep the amazing legacy of the Langston Golf Course alive through activities that focus on stewardship and community engagement.

PROGRAMS
The Langston Golf Course Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on raising funds in support of Langston Golf Course renovations, youth empowerment programs, community development, and cultural preservation in and around the neighborhood surrounding the historic Langston Golf Course.
COURSE HISTORY
Langston Golf Course is an 18-hole golf course in Washington, D.C., established in 1939. It was named for John Mercer Langston, who was the first dean of the Howard University School of Law, the first president of Virginia Normal and Collegiate Institute (now Virginia State University), and the first African American elected to the United States Congress from Virginia.
The "Friends of Langston" advocate and support continuing enhancements and upgrades to Langston Golf Course to help assure it fulfills its legacy as a premier and historic golf course. Special benefits as our Friend include: a commemorative gift; pre-event notices and invitations, donor recognition in various publications including LANGSTON Magazine, and an invitation to the Lee Elder Memorial Golf Charity Classic and other tournaments.
